The final Hoosier leave the stage of American Idol finishing in 11Th place overall. It was a good run for Amanda Overmyer who brought something differ net to the stage of American Idol. We should all learn from her and the other American Idols. If you have a dream or goal, you need to take a chance and go for it. There is nothing worse than looking back in life knowing you didn't take a chance to achieve your dreams. Congratulations Amanda on making it the furthest of all the Indian American Idols. The other remaining American Idols are:
David Archuleta
Brooke White
Ramiele Malubay
Jason Castro
Chikezie Eze
Carly Smithson
Kristy Lee Cook
Michael Johns
David Cook
Syesha Mercado

American Idols | Amanda Overmyer Moves On

Amanda Overmyer makes it past another round of American Idol eliminations. Despite her many critical comments made over her clothing choices and hair style she stays alive for another week. This past week I must admit she looked a bit like Bettlejuice in those striped pants, but that's what I like about her. She's not affraid to be herself and just goes out and enjoys the moment. We'll have to wait and see what type of wild and crayz outfit she comes out in this week. Hot pink perhaps? I suspect she will make it atleast another week or two, but beyond that is anyone's guess.

Amanda Overmyer Makes Final 12 On American Idol
Much as I suspected Amanda Overmyer continued on to make the final 12 American Idol contestants. Unfortunately the other Hoosier, Luke Menard was put back on the bus to Indiana. If you have read my other post this wasn't exactly a shocker. I was surprised to see Asia’h Epperson go home, I thought she was a lock for the top 8. It just goes to show you never know how the voting will go on American Idol. Danny Noriega and Katy Malloy's departure didnt come as much of a surpise to me. Both were just fair performers compared to the others.
Final 12 finalists that move into the next round of American Idol:
Amanda Overmyer - Our last hope for Indiana!!!
American Idol David Archuleta
Brooke White
David Cook
Chikezie Eze
David Hernandez
Michael Johns
Ramiele Malubay
Syesha Mercado
Jason Castro
Carly Smithson

Amanda Overmyer Nails It

Simon's reaction to Amanda Overmyer's renditon of Joan Jett's popular song "I Hate Myself For Loving You" was " You nailed It!" all three judges on this weeks American Idol believed it was the type of song she should be singing and she did it well. Finally an Indiana American Idol shines. With that type of performance Amanda Overmyer can overcome the recent scandals with her DUI as well as her unusual hair style. Overall the entire cast of female American Idol finalists did a much better job last night. I personally think they put the men to shame. Brooke White had a second nice performance this week singing "Love Is A Battle Field". The so called ringer Carly Smithson also did a very nice job with her version of "I Drove All Night". In general I feel these were the top 3 from last night but the American Idol voters will let me know for sure tonight. Which American Idol female do you think did the best last night?

National Enquirer Looking For Amanda Overmyer Nude
Its a shame but recently news about possible mugshot and nude photo's might create issues for Indiana's own American Idol Amanda Overmyer. We hope this isnt true but I have read several blogs discussing similar topics some with actual photo's. Amanda dont let this discourage you it's all part of being in the spot light.
On a brighter note both our Indiana Idols make it past last nights eliminations.
Luke Menard who has been touring in the past with an acapella group did much better this past week. Keep it up Luke. Amanda Overmyer will definately need to rethink her approach to this up coming round of American Idol as judges just were not impressed last week. Hang in there Amanda.
Indiana American Idols Move On
Congrats to both Luke Menard and Amanda Overmyer on avoiding the sharp axe of American Idol voters. Indiana fans are still in the hunt on this one. Alaina Whitaker who Simon Cowell had mentioned as a possible American Idol sleeper was sent packing tears and all. Jason Yeager was another contestant that found his time on American Idol short lived. Best wishes to both these young performers in the future.
As for Amanda Overmyer you better reexamine your song selection and appearance if you expect to make it out of the next round. Were not asking that you change who you are, but the judges attitudes can make or break the American Idol voters response to your performance.
I learned something new about Luke Menard this week that I didn't already know.
He has been performing for some time with an acapella group. Some advice to Luke dont choose Queen songs. Queen has a distinct sound and its hard to ever compare to the original.
Anyway Good Luck to all the remaining contestants.

American Idol Ladies Bomb

Watching last nights American Idol almost made me feel bad. The judges beat up most of the contestants on their song selection. Amanda Overmyer was basically told to completely redo her look. Simon specifially mentioned her "Terrible Hair". Its definately a competition for the men to loose this year in my opinion. We'll find out tonight which two American Idol finalists will go home. lets hope its not Amanda Overmyer or Luke Menard our two remaining hoosier contestants.

Amy Davis Eliminated From American Idol
Amy Davis was eliminated in the first rounds of cuts on American Idol last night. This doesn't come as a huge suprise after her perfromance and the judges comments during Wednesday's American Idol episode. We hope that Amy can take something positive away from this experience. Everyone from Indiana should be proud of her accomplishments even though she wont continue on in the American Idol competition. If it doesnt help to boost her sining career its bound to have some impact on her modeling opportunities, as the web is now full of sites featuring Amy Davis and her many photo's. Its amazing how a brief time in the lime light can create such a buzz around the world. While I do have a few photo's of Amy Davis here, there are many sites out there that do nothing but feature her many different swimsuit pictures and other photo's from her modeling portfolio. Garrett Haley was another midwest American Idol contender that was eliminated during this first round. Like Amy he had less than a spectacular performance on Tuesday. Garrett Haley a 17 yr old will return to Elida, OH and continue singing in his local church. Hopefully we will see more of him in the future. This round of eliminations leave only 2 Indiana American Idol contestants left, Luke Menard and Amanda Overmyer. Neither of these had a great showing on thier debut , but atleast it was enough to move them deeper into the American Idol competition.

Amanda Overmyer Indiana American Idol | Rockin Nurse

Amanda Overmyer from Mulberry, IN came out rocking the stage with her rendition of Baby, Please Don't Go". Sporting a pair of patchwork pants that even Randy wanted to wear. Besides liking her pants, Randy really seems to dig this American Idol's blues/rock style of singing. Paul and Simon also liked Amanda Overmyer's performance stating that she is "authentic" and "original". Amanda did stumble slightly on remembering her words but its my opinion that wont prevent her from moving on into the next American Idol episode. Tonight we find out which two male and female performers will be going home. Keep you fingers crossed that all of Indiana's American Idols continue one. Our hats of to Luke Menard, Amy Davis and Amanda Overmyer for having the courage to step up on that American Idol stage and give it a shot.

Indiana American Idols | Less Than Stellar
Luke Menard from Crawfordsville, IN opened with the song "Everybody's Talking" written by Harry Nilsson. Luke left the judges wanting a bit more. Randy of of the opinion that Luke Menard was rather pitchy through the whole song. Paula was of the mindset that he didnt choose the best song to open with and Simon said "It was forgettable". This definately wasnt the best way for Luke Menard to make his debut on American Idol's finals, however he did appear to be comfortable on the stage. For Indiana's sake lets hope Luke makes it to the next round of American Idol.
The other representative from the midwest to perform last night was Garrett Haley. Garrett from the small town of Elida, OH appeared overly nervous throughout his performance. This is something to be expected from a 17 year old teenager making an appearance on American Idol. Garrett Haley's song selection "Breaking up is hard to do" was written by N. Sedaka and H. Greenfield. The judges impression that he was "boring, whiny and terrified" I'm sure left Garrett Haley feeling less than confident. We wont have the results of last night performance until Thursday's airing of American Idol. Lets hope both Garret Haley and Luke Menard make it another round. While both these midwest performers didnt live up to the judges expectations the overall feeling was that most of the American Idol males were less than spectacular.
Tonight we will get to see the Indiana women perform. Amy Davis from Lowell, IN and Amanda Overmyer from Mulberry, IN both get to debut their talents in the showing of American Idols top 12 females tonight. Lets hope the gals out do thier male counterparts and leave the crowd wanting more!! Asia'h Epperson is a strong favorite for the women

Hoosier American Idol | 3 American Idols From Indiana

Hoosiers everywhere have to be overly proud as Indiana has 3 American Idols in the top 24. Season 7 of American Idol kicks off the finals tonight on Fox, and among them are Amy Davis, Amanda Overmyer, and Luke Menard. All three come from home towns right here in Indiana. As a fellow Hoosier I'll watch American Idol with more exictement and anticipation this year.
Amy Davis hails from the small town of Lowell,IN She is a beautiful young 25 year old women pursing a career in modeling and singing.
Amanda Overmyer who calls Mulberry, IN her hometown is age 23 and is considered by many to be one of the top female contenders on this seasons American Idol
Luke Menard is a handsome young man from Crawfordsville,IN. He is 29 yrs old and enjoys lifting weights and riding motorcycles. Luke Menard is one of the lesser known contestants this year. It will be interesting to see how he does.
Hopefully all of the Hoosier American Idols go deep into the competition and represent Indiana in a positive way. Luke will be the first of the three that will perform for us as the men begin on tonights episode.
